Digitalization in cosmetic industry
The digitalization of factories presents a valuable yet often overlooked opportunity for the cosmetic industry. Digitalization is one of the main challenges of the cosmetic industry and needs to be improved in all the components of the value chain of the industry. Indeed, due to the fast-moving market and to strengthen the international leadership, the European cosmetic industry must improve its digital maturity, become s tronger and more agile ondata management, for the monitoring, in real time, the production lines, but also on the convergence between industrial information systems (IIS) and enterprise information systems (EIS), the securing of data through traceability and cybersecurity, etc..
The digitalization will serve also as one of the means to reach the Green transition objectives.
In light of this, our objective is to offer tools that facilitate the decision-making process concerning the adoption and effective utilization of digital technologies within European cosmetic companies, specifically targeting improvements environmental sustainability, traceability, and reducing operating costs and time to market.
The findings from this survey will be utilized for the purpose of developing a comprehensive mapping of existing and missing skills within cosmetics industry, along with the available training opportunities centred around the themes of Digital Transition and Green Transition.
Thanks to this survey, the aim of the partnership is to identify main areas of actions for the cosmetic industry to develop innovative proposals for the sector.
